Tulo lands on DL with strained right hamstring

ANAHEIM -- The Blue Jays were dealt another blow on the injury front Saturday, as the club placed starting shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the 10-day disabled list, the result of a strained right hamstring.

Tulowitzki injured his hamstring in Friday's 8-7 win over the Angels, removing himself from the game in the top of the eighth inning after sliding into third base.

"I definitely felt it tighten up on me pretty good," said Tulowitzki, who is dealing with a hamstring injury for the first time in his Major League career.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said the new 10-day disabled list was "definitely a factor" in the decision with Tulowitzki.
