The Big Sexy leads Twins over Blue Jays

TORONTO — What 44-year-old Bartolo Colon lacked in fluidity Friday against the busted Blue Jays was more than compensated for by Byron Buxton’s flash.

The double threat by the Minnesota Twins made quick work of Toronto in an eventual 6-1 decision. Buxton’s three hits, featuring two bunt singles, kept the visitors base path merry-go-round in working order, while the centre fielder flagged down five balls through four innings and cut off a rally in the eighth .

Toronto starter J.A. Happ developed some problems with lead-off hitters after the first inning and though he struck out seven, Buxton set the table for a Jorge Polanco’s two-run double in a three-run Minnesota third.
