We’ve all slipped in the shower at some point and, on Thursday, Russell Martin became the latest victim, forcing him from Friday’s lineup.
“He was in the sauna, guess he was in there too long,” Gibbons said. “He got a little light-headed and fell in the shower and twisted his knee.”
The little mishap isn’t expected to sideline him for too long. Josh Thole took his spot in the lineup against the Seattle Mariners. Thole was scheduled to work Saturday’s game as well, catching R.A. Dickey.
Martin is hitting .228 with seven home runs so far this season.
