KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two promising rookies -- Ryan Borucki of the Toronto Blue Jays and Heath Fillmyer of the Kansas City Royals -- square off Tuesday night in the second game of a four-game series.
Borucki began the season with Triple-A Buffalo, where he was 6-5 with a 3.27 ERA. He made his major league debut on June 26.
He has won his last two starts, besting American League playoff contenders Seattle and Boston. In his past three starts, he has allowed six earned runs and 19 hits over 19 innings.
