SEATTLE -- The Blue Jays activated Kevin Pillar prior to Friday's game against Seattle. He will play center field and bat ninth.
Pillar has been sidelined since July 14 with a strained right SC joint. He has slashed .247/.279/.407 this season.
In a corresponding move, reliever Brandon Cumpton was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. He made just one appearance for Toronto, throwing 1 2/3 innings and giving up a run on Tuesday.
