The last thing the Blue Jays need is for the Baltimore Orioles' offence to get more fired up than it already is, but Yordano Ventura certainly ignited something the other night in Baltimore.
The hotheaded Kansas City pitcher plunked Manny Machado in the back with a 99-m.p.h. fastball -- the hardest pitch he threw all night -- on Tuesday, turning the game between the Orioles and Royals into a bench-clearing brawl.
Ventura seems to be systematically alienating every team in baseball with his blatant disregard for the safety of his opponents. He has lost his composure against the Athletics, the White Sox, the Angels, the Blue Jays and, now, the Orioles.
