The Seattle Mariners swung a significant six-player trade on Wednesday, acquiring infielder-outfielder Mark Trumbo and left-hander Vidal Nuno from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for catcher Wellington Castillo, right-hander Dominic Leone and two minor leaguers.
Included in the deal were minor league outfielder Gabby Guerrero and infielder Jack Reinheimer. The Mariners will make additional roster moves before Trumbo and Nuno report to the team.
The 29-year-old Trumbo was batting .259 with nine home runs and 23 RBIs in 46 games this season for the Diamondbacks, starting 40 games in right field and one at first base.
In six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels and Diamondbacks, the former American League All-Star has 118 home runs and 368 RBIs in 594 games, with 34 homers and 100 RBIs in his final season for the Angels in 2013.
