Jays keep faith in Aaron Sanchez

In the glow of victory the two-batter outing by Aaron Sanchez in the eighth was lost in the bigger picture.

The Jays would win 4-2 thanks to a couple of great pitching performances but Sanchez wasn’t one of them. The laurels went to starter David Price and lefty reliever Brett Cecil who cleaned up Sanchez’ mess with three clutch strikeouts.

Sanchez has had his struggles of late but manager John Gibbons kept the faith in calling his name to start the eighth.

Sanchez walked the first batter on five pitches and then on a 1-2 pitch to Dustin Ackley he hung a breaking ball up in the zone and it was slapped to left putting runners on the corners with none out.
