TORONTO -- Nomar Mazara hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the eighth and made a game-saving outfield assist in the bottom half of the inning to lead the Rangers over the Blue Jays, 2-1, at Rogers Centre on Monday night, the first meeting between the two teams since last year's American League Division Series.
Fresh off winning AL Rookie of the Month honours after a stellar April, in which he hit .333 with two home runs and seven RBIs, Mazara took a cutter from Gavin Floyd and sent it over the centre-field wall to break a 1-1 deadlock.
