A producer from a Chicago radio station asked the Tigers beat writer for the Detroit News if he had time to guest on his show. Then the conversation went something like this:
Gage: “I’m a little busy. I’ll try to make time, but there’s a lot going on in Cooperstown.”
Producer: “Oh, you’re not with the team in Boston?”
Gage: “No.”
Producer: “Well, have a good time. There are a lot of good guys being honoured this weekend.”
