Encarnacion 'good to go' despite injury

The injury has been lingering for months but typically would become less problematic after a few days off. That's a luxury the Blue Jays and Encarnacion currently do not have, so the veteran slugger will attempt to play through the pain.

"He's good to go," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "So he'll be in the lineup. ... He's a huge part of our lineup. He's battled this on and off. The day off might do him some good, but we need him, so he's in there. He'll battle through it."

Encarnacion was sent for X-rays during Game 1, and they came back negative.
