Troy Tulowitzki, on the shelf the past 18 days with a strained quad muscle, started a rehab assignment with the Florida State League Dunedin Blue Jays. If all goes well, he could be back in the big-league lineup some time next week.
Tulowitzki was off to a horrible start this season but has started to find his game over the last couple of weeks before he suffered the injury on May 27 against Boston.
In his first 32 games this year, Tulowitzki was hitting just .165 with an OPS of .569. In his most recent 14 games leading up to his May 27 injury, he had gone 15-for-52 with eight extra-base hits, inlcuding three homers for an OPS of .
