ARLINGTON - With his usual enthusiasm, Marcus Stroman continues to point himself toward an early September comeback to the Blue Jays and while the club’s thinkers are optimistic, they are proceeding with due caution.
“Nothing is going to happen unless the doctors sign off on it,” said manager John Gibbons. “If the doctors are a little bit hesitant, it’s not going to happen. At this point they’re feeling pretty good about it and I’m sure they’re keeping close tabs on it.”
On Friday, Stroman is expected to throw a 50-60-pitch simulated game in Dunedin and then a decision will be made where next to have him continue with his rehab.
