The lesser known prospect made the two and half hour trek from Dunedin with a cast of predominantly minor leaguers as the Blue Jays visited the Minnesota Twins at the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers yesterday. Heidt made his spring debut for Manager John Gibbons scoring a run after being called upon to pinch-run.
The versatile infielder was drafted in the 13th round, 384th overall in the 2014 amateur draft by the Blue Jays. Heidt put up respectable numbers last season between Lansing and Dunedin and could become a prospect to watch if he can build on last season’s totals.
