Blue Jays sitting David Price, saving him for playoffs

The Toronto Blue Jays' ace is taking a seat.

David Price will not start another regular season game, Jays manager John Gibbons said in Baltimore.

Price, originally scheduled to pitch against the Orioles Thursday, has been given time to rest his arm in preparation for the post-season.

The left-hander has been penciled in to start the first game of the American League Division Series.

In an effort to avoid rust, the 30-year-old will throw a simulated game or two prior to his next start.

Price is 9-1 with a 2.30 earned-run average in 11 starts for Toronto.
