The Blue Jays have signed outfielder Domonic Brown to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training, the club announced Thursday. Brown, 28, has posted a .246 batting average with 54 home runs and 229 RBIs in 493 games in the Major Leagues.
The left-handed-hitting Brown was selected by the Phillies in the 20th round of the 2006 Draft, and he had spent his entire career with the organization before becoming a free agent for the first time after the team outrighted him in October. The outfielder batted .293 with 62 home runs and 314 RBIs in 594 games at the Minor League level.
