Toronto Blue Jays ace Hyun-Jin Ryu opted to remain in Florida rather than returning to his hometown Korea when the MLB season was postponed due to the Coronavirus. Ryu’s wife is also expecting the couple’s first child, adding an extra layer to their situation.
Martin and Ryu were teammates last season with the Los Angeles Dodgers where the pair would have been a battery together. Martin is still currently without a contract, however, he does have intentions of playing in 2020.
Ryu inked a four-year pact with the Blue Jays this past offseason, the same team Martin played four seasons for between 2015-18.
