The Miami Marlins have inked Jon Berti to a minor league pact with an invitation to spring training. The speedy utility player made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in 2018 as a late-season call-up managing to get into four games.
The 28-year old held his own notching four hits including a double and triple while swiping a bag in 15 plate appearances. Berti spent eight seasons in the Blue Jays minor league ranks so perhaps a change of scenery will afford Berti an opportunity to remain with the big club in 2019.
The Marlins also nabbed former Jays farmhand Harold Ramirez on a minor-league deal last week as well.
