Ricky Romero will be joining former Blue Jays teammate Jo Jo Reyes as well as a slew of ex-major leaguers like Alex Liddi, Jorge Cantu, Oscar Robles and Corey Brown on the Toros squad.
The native of East Los Angeles has not pitched in the major leagues since 2013 where he made 4 appearances with the Blue Jays. Romero was an All-Star in 2011 going 15-11 with a 2.92 earned run average, while whiffing 178 in 225 innings of work.
Romero would suffer a string of injuries and a loss of confidence never living up to his former self.
