Charlie Montoyo had to call upon today’s probable starter last night when he summoned Sean Reid-Foley to bail out Trent Thornton after the starter gave up seven runs in 2.2 innings of work. Following the contest, Montoyo advised that he expected rookie Jacob Waguespack to get the nod on the bump opposite Chris Sale.
Waguespack has made one appearance for the Blue Jays already this season surrendering two earned runs in four innings of work. The 24-year old was placed on the injured list shortly after making his MLB debut with shoulder discomfort.
