Blue Jays have decision to make on future of Dalton Pompey

The Blue Jays must decide whether they will promote Dalton Pompey to the majors or designate the out of options outfielder for assignment. Pompey suffered his third concussion earlier this spring when he hit his head on some bats atop his locker in the spring training clubhouse.

Pompey has played in 14 rehab games, five with Buffalo and Dunedin and four-game with the Gulf Coast League rookie affiliate. In five contests with the Bisons, the 26-year old is hitting .316 with six singles and no stolen bases in 52 plate appearances.

The Blue Jays could conceivably promote him and keep him around for the remainder of the season as there will surely be some open roster spaces in the coming days leading up to the trade deadline.
