Blue Jays’ Dalton Pompey to begin rehab assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays have not been very forthcoming with updates on the status of outfielder Dalton Pompey who suffered a concussion sliding into second base during the World Baseball Classic Tourney while representing Team Canada.

Sportsnet analyst Jamie Campbell finally shed some light on the topic last night confirming on Twitter that Pompey would begin a rehab assignment in Dunedin early next week.

Dalton Pompey's concussion clearance papers submitted to MLB today. Tentatively scheduled to begin rehab assignment in Dunedin Tuesday.

Pompey possesses game-changing speed as we all witnessed during the postseason where the outfielder was primarily used as a pinch-runner off the bench for manager John Gibbons.
