Blue Jays: Dalton Pompey scratched from lineup due to freak accident

Related Topics: Dalton Pompey, Clearwater

As reported by Gregor Chisholm, Dalton Pompey was scratched from today’s start due to a freak injury before the game. It happened before the spring training contest when outfielder Dalton Pompey bumped his head on some bats that were on top of his locker.

Currently Pompey is being evaluated by team doctors, but he already has a fairly lengthy history with concussions in his career.

You will remember that Dalton Pompey suffered a concussion while sliding into second while playing for team Canada at the World Baseball Classic in 2017. He also suffered a concussion while playing in AAA in 2016, so there is some cause for concern with the number he has ready sustained to this point.
