Blue Jays' Cecil on paternity leave

SAN FRANCISCO - With Brett Cecil back at home in Maryland on a three-day paternity leave, manager John Gibbons is planning to try to find a late-inning formula to bridge the gap from his starters to closer Roberto Osuna.

Cecil and his wife Jennifer welcomed their new daughter Braelynn Natalie into the world Monday morning as Brett began a three-day paternity leave from the ball club. He will miss all three games in San Francisco but will rejoin the Jays for the second half of this six-game road trip in Texas.

To take Cecil’s place on the active roster, reliever Ryan Tepera was summoned from Buffalo.
