The Blue Jays have put together a very long list of relievers competing to fill out the bottom of their bullpen and to serve as depth. The bullpen overall has been a focus this offseason. Rightly, they’ve worked to improve an area of weakness.
The signings of Joe Smith and J.P. Howell have headlined that effort (they’re obviously not world beaters but they are actually Toronto’s most significant reliever signings since 2012).
Roberto Osuna, Jason Grilli, Smith, Howell and Joe Biagini (unless he’s starting) form a solid relief core.
