Blue Jays and Braves have “discussed trade possibilities”

The Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves have “discussed trade possibilities in recent days”, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Additionally, Morosi reports that the Blue Jays had “a high-level scout watching RHP Tristan Beck” pitch Friday night for the Class-A Florida Fire Frogs of the Florida State League.

Ranked as Atlanta’s No. 18 prospect on MLB Pipeline, the tall righty has pitched to an ERA of 5.65 in eight starts for Florida, striking out 39 in 36.2 innings.

At first glance, Beck appears to be exactly what the Blue Jays would want to receive in a trade involving one of Marcus Stroman, Ken Giles, Daniel Hudson, or even Eric Sogard.
