The Toronto Blue Jays had a bit of an underwhelming deadline, acquiring Seranthony Dominguez, Shane Bieber, Ty France, and Louie Varland. While those are solid pickups, General Manager Ross Atkins needed to do much more with this market and one of the big names that he missed out on was David Bednar. The Pirates stunningly settled with the Yankees for a rather cheaper than expected return, landing three prospects.
The headliner of that deal was Rafael Flores, the Yankees 8th best prospect per MLB Pipeline. He appears to help Pittsburgh as their catching room is really weak, yet he was not the top five organizational prospect the team was reportedly after.
