The New York Yankees have signed first baseman Ike Davis to a major league contract, and he will join the team soon, according to MLB Network.
Mark Teixeira went on the disabled list last week with a knee inury and there have even been reports floating around that he has considered retirement after yet another DL stint. Regardless, the Yankees were left without a first baseman to bat against right-handed pitchers, so they went out and got one.
