Aaron Boone is ready to trade in his pinstripes for board shorts and a spatula, at least for a few days.
With Major League Baseball’s All-Star break beginning Monday, Boone, the Yankees’ manager, plans on getting some rest and relaxation. Boone will watch the Home Run Derby on Monday and the Midsummer Classic on Tuesday, but he’ll also make the most of a short vacation.
When asked Sunday to describe how the Yankees had played so far, Boone said, “Well.”
He added: “But we’re keenly aware of how much longer we’ve got to go. All we’ve done is put ourselves in a great position to do something special.
