Yankees 3, Astros 2: Two Yanks Bask in Comforts of Home, Sinking Astros

HOUSTON — For rookies or veterans, there is always something special about returning home to play baseball.

It allowed Chris Young, not far from where he grew up, to parade his young nephew around the clubhouse Thursday, introducing him to teammates. It also allowed Nathan Eovaldi to pitch in front of dozens of people from his nearby hometown, Alvin, Tex., including its most famous son, Nolan Ryan.

But Young and Eovaldi did more than bask in the comforts of the familiar on Friday. They carried the Yankees to a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros.
