Carlos Beltran, pulling on pinstriped pants before playing his first major league game since June 30, motioned for the pack of reporters hovering around his locker to approach him for an interview.
Several writers did not notice Beltran’s call and stood pat. He turned to face them again.
“You guys got two minutes,” he said as they sauntered to his locker. The interview lasted two minutes and four seconds.
Beltran, the Yankees right fielder, was activated from the 15-day disabled list before the Yankees’ 2-1 win over the Seattle Mariners on a scorching Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
