CLEVELAND — This World Series is about making history, and Corey Kluber made some very quickly Tuesday night.
Cleveland's ace struck out the first two Cubs, then struck out the side in the second inning after Ben Zobrist's double. In the third, Kluber struck out Addison Russell, then gave up a single to David Ross. Back at the top of the order, Kluber struck out Dexter Fowler and Kris Bryant a second time each.
That's eight strikeouts in three innings, already a Cleveland team record for the World Series. The previous high of seven was shared by Orel Hershiser in Game 1 of the 1995 World Series and Jaret Wright in Game 7 of the 1997 Fall Classic.
