World Series 2016: Addison Russell grand slam turns Game 6 into potential Cubs blowout

CLEVELAND – Cubs shortstop Addison Russell broke open Game 6 of the World Series with a grand slam that gave the Cubs a 7-0 lead in the third inning against the Indians. Russell hit a 2-0 pitch from Dan Otero over the center-field wall to give Chicago a commanding lead.

It was the first grand slam in the World Series since Oct. 22, 2005, when the White Sox's Paul Konerko went deep against the Astros in Game 2. It was also the first grand slam ever hit by a Cubs player in the World Series, and the first grand slam allowed by a Cleveland pitcher in World Series history.
