World Cup Updates: Today Is About Positioning. The Stars Come Out Later.

After Serbia stole Cameroon’s momentum with two goals in stoppage time, rapidly rescuing what had been a disappointing first half, Aleksandar Mitrovic extended that lead to 3-1 with a tap-in goal in the 53rd minute.

The game got away from Cameroon in the final minutes of the first half. Strahinja Pavlovic headed home a free kick by Dusan Tadic in the 45th minute, tying the game. Then, three minutes later, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic gave Serbia the lead.

Cameroon had taken the lead in the 29th minute after converting a corner kick that Serbia handed them with a clumsy, errant pass in its own end.
