A woman who had an extramarital affair with former Wisconsin basketball coach Bo Ryan is now suing school officials.
Robin Van Ert, 42, filed a defamation suit Wednesday in a federal court in Madison, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Van Ert is suing Wisconsin chancellor Rebecca Blank, athletic director Barry Alvarez and six other UW-Madison officials. She is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, plus attorney fees.
The suit stems from a 2015 investigation conducted by Wisconsin that looked into the affair between Van Ert and Ryan, 68, who retired last December. Van Ert claims the investigation defamed her and invaded her privacy.
