Elina Svitolina, the Ukrainian who returned to the tour just a few months ago after giving birth to her first child in October, knocked off Swiatek, the No. 1 player in the world, 7-5, 6(5)-7, 6-2 to return to the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time since 2019. Though Svitolina is unseeded and currently ranked No. 76 in the world, she was ranked as high as No.
