Who is the highest-paid MLB first baseman? Top 10 in 2025.

Slugging first baseman Pete Alonso agreed to a two-year, $54 million with New York Mets that includes an opt-out after the first year, finally re-signing with the team that drafted him.

Alonso will earn $30 million in 2025, which includes a $10 million signing bonus − making him the highest-paid first baseman − and has a $24 million player option for 2026.

The All-Star was hoping to sign a long-term deal with the Mets this offseason, instead agreeing to short-term deal which could make him a free agent in 2026.
