Georgia baseball coach Wes Johnson's boost in compensation that came with a one-year contact extension announced last week matches his raise from a year ago.
Johnson received a $300,000 increase in pay to bring his annual salary to $1.3 million, according to information obtained Tuesday May 27 by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request.
That moves him up for a tie for eighth among 16 SEC coaches, according to salaries compiled by the USA Today Sports Network.
“We’re getting him into a much better place in the league where he belongs,” athletic director Josh Brooks said last week.
