Wayne Gretzky bids adieu to site of Great One's greatest greatness, Rexall Place

'The Great One' said his goodbyes Wednesday to the place he made so great.

As part of a farewell ceremony after the Oilers' final game at Rexall Place (a 6-2 win over the Canucks), Gretzky joined a host of other former Edmonton players who celebrated their teams and the arena.

"My gosh, I wish we could be out there and play for them again, but we can't do it anymore," Gretzky said (via CBC.ca).

The emotional comment drew cheers from Oilers fans, most wearing the team's orange, blue and white jerseys.
