The first-place Rangers just came through with a pretty remarkable victory, 5-4 over the A's in 10 innings, that ended in unorthodox fashion and moved them to 71-50 on the season.
First off, they lost starting pitcher Lucas Harrell to injury early, putting their bullpen in quite the taxing situation. No problem, as Alex Claudio stepped up to throw four scoreless innings.
Closer Sam Dyson did blow a save in the ninth, however, and then the top of the 10th, the A's got Keone Kela for two runs.
