Haiti’s Jeffrey Julmis took a nasty tumble at the very start of the 110-meter hurdles semifinal on Tuesday, but was still determined to finish the race.
Julmis mistimed his leap on the first hurdle and went crashing to the ground. Even though the fall disqualified from the race, Julmis kept on running, earning the admiration of many viewers.
Julmis, 28, was competing in his second Olympics. He did not qualify for the semis in 2012, finishing his first heat in 13.87. His 13.66 this year was good enough to put him in the semis before his unfortunate fall.
