Warriors’ Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry Share a Bond Beyond the Arc

OAKLAND, Calif. — Practice for the Golden State Warriors ended, and the best long-range shooter in N.B.A. history, statistically, took a final shot from the right wing beyond the 3-point arc.

Swish.

Moments later, that man, Coach Steve Kerr, laughed at a question about whether he ever reminded Stephen Curry, the N.B.A. Most Valuable Player Award winner who is gaining a reputation as the best long-distance shooter in league history, that he, not Curry, is the game’s most-accurate 3-point shooter.

“No, I definitely don’t, because the retort is pretty easy,” said Kerr, who won championships playing with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls and Tim Duncan’s San Antonio Spurs.
