Vikings DT sues cops who 'publicly humiliated' him

Vikings defensive tackle Tom Johnson is suing two Minneapolis policemen over an October 2014 incident during which the off-duty officers pepper-sprayed and tasered him, leaving him, according to the lawsuit, “injured, jailed, publicly humiliated and ultimately forced to defend himself from criminal charges.”

StarTribune.com reports Johnson, 31, is seeking $75,000 in federal court, claiming officers Patrick McCarver and John Laluzerne violated his civil rights via excessive force, false arrest and unreasonable seizure.

Johnson was acquitted last June of all charges stemming from the confrontation at Seven, a Minneapolis restaurant and nightclub often frequented by professional athletes and where the off-duty policemen were serving as security.
