Vikings coach Mike Zimmer reached for the most grim memory in an attempt to put Teddy Bridgewater's "significant" knee injury into perspective.

"It's tough today. My wife passed away seven years ago," Zimmer said. "It was a tough day. The sun came up the next day, the world kept spinning people kept going to work and that's what we're gonna do."

Somehow, that brought some sort of dig-deep grit out in Zimmer as he is suddenly charged with leading a team that has gone from being a Super Bowl hopeful to one with one of the league's most precarious quarterback situations.
