Viewership of baseball’s All-Star Game on Tuesday night fell about 4 percent from last year to 10.91 million, the second-lowest on record, according to Nielsen.
The game, which the American League won, 6-3, was shown on Fox and generated its largest audience of 12.1 million viewers from 9:45 to 10 p.m. Eastern time.
While some markets like Kansas City, Houston and Cincinnati, where the game was played, showed increases in ratings, the New York market’s rating slid from 11.9 to an 8.2. Last year, the Yankees’ Derek Jeter played in his final All-Star Game. This year, there were no starters from the Yankees or the Mets.
