Coming out of halftime in the final group stage match vs. Iran, the USMNT subbed out Christian Pulisic for Brenden Aaronson. That means he will not return for the rest of the game.
Pulisic got injured scoring the first goal of the match, appearing to injure his abdomen. He returned to finish out the first half, but Gregg Berhalter decided to take his star out for a fresh body in the second half.
Up to this point, Pulisic had played every minute of the World Cup.
