USAC star Bryan Clauson dies from injuries suffered in sprint car crash

Former NASCAR driver Bryan Clauson died Sunday night after suffering severe injuries in a sprint-car crash at Belleville High Banks in Kansas.

Clauson's family annouced Clauson's passing in a statement read at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Monday morning.

Clauson was airlifted to a Nebraska hospital after the crash Saturday night.

Clauson, 27, was one of the winningest drivers in the USAC with 112 victories in a variety of sprint-car series. He raced in the Indianapolis 500 three times. He also has 26 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Chip Ganassi Racing.
