U.S. Scores Wild Goal to Cut Netherlands Lead at World Cup

It took a while, but the USMNT finally broke through vs. the Netherlands on Saturday morning. After the Dutch initially cleared a corner kick, Christian Pulisic found the ball and sent the ball in front of the goal, seemingly hitting the back of Haji Wright’s foot.

It took a weird bounce, but it favored the Americans. The score gave the USMNT life after the team was down 2-0 entering halftime.

Wright missed a chance at a score earlier that led to the corner kick, but he was in the right place at the right time to get the USMNT on the board.
