UND football picks up rare Texas recruit with FBS offers including Oklahoma

GRAND FORKS — The UND football program made a rare recruiting dive into Texas for its latest commitment of the 2026 recruiting class.

Delvin Cook Jr., a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver from Dallas, committed to UND recently, choosing the Fighting Hawks over offers from Oklahoma, Tulsa, Miami of Ohio, Sam Houston State, Sacramento State and others.

UND, which underwent an offseason coaching change and is now led by Eric Schmidt, had just two Texas players on the spring roster and neither were recruited to Grand Forks out of high school. Defensive end Myles Terry was a Division III transfer two years ago and B.
