Twins' Rocco Baldelli, Cardinals' Mike Shildt Win Manager of the Year Awards

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli and Cardinals manager Mike Shildt were named the American and National League Managers of the Year on Tuesday. Both won the award for the first time in their careers.

Baldelli won AL Manager of the Year in his first year with Minnesota. The Twins won 101 games, marking their first 100-win season since 1965. Baldelli and Co. also won the franchise's first AL Central title since 2010 before getting swept by the Yankees in the ALDS.

Shildt led the Cardinals back to the playoffs after a three-year drought. St. Louis finished the regular season 91–71, then beat the Braves in the NLDS.
